Update: Distance Learning & Back to School Night

The following is a message from Principal Brian Frost. if you have any questions regarding the message, please contact the school directly.

“Dear Mary Fay Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2020 Dash 21 school year. I want to start by thinking families for their patience and flexibility as the school develops plans to start the year virtually. This message she has brought plans. There will be follow up messages that are shorter and specific and topic. For example, when and where to find out who your child’s teacher will be some thing that will be shared in the future.

I know everyone is waiting patiently for information on how the start of the school year will look. As information is finalized we will share it with you promptly. For example, the distance-learning school schedule is close to being bored approved and shared. It is being designed to allow for teachers to actively teach students new material, respond to students degrees of academic comprehension of the new material, and maintain sensitivity to students not being in front of a screen for an entire school day.

We are planning on checking out new chrome books to every student enrolled at Mary Fay. Each student will receive a chrome book and charger. Our distribution days will be August 6 and seven. More specific information on distribution schedule to come. We will collect the chrome books that were distributed last school year at the same time. We are also planning on hosting a drive-by meet your teacher session on the afternoon of Friday, August 14. This will be a short opportunity for families to see their teacher in the circle loop and parking lot. A school supplies/curriculums bag will also be distributed to students at this time. Any family that still needs a Chromebook can get one then as well.

we will be doing our back to school night virtually this year. It will likely include a recorded message from the teacher explaining items such as the best methods of communication, instructional systems, and support for students. This will be followed with a live video conference for parents to ask specific questions to the teacher. More information on scheduling to come.

if you see new families moving in please let them know to stop by and pick up the registration packet or register online.

very respectfully,

Brian Frost, Principal

Mary Fay Pendleton”
